16 Ways to “One Another” Your Spouse

I recently decided to do a little Bible study on all of the “One Another” statements in the New Testament. As I studied them, I thought how wonderful every marriage would be if we lived these out daily with our spouse. Think of one way you can be intentional about showering your spouse with each of the following statements in a tangible way. It’s not enough just to say you feel that way towards your spouse…find ways to express it!

  1. A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. – John 13:34
  2. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. – Romans 12:10
  3. Live in harmony with one another. – Romans 12:16
  4. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. -Romans 14:13
  5. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. – Romans 15:7
  6. Greet one another with a kiss of love. – 1 Peter 5:14
  7. I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. – 1 Corinthians 1:10
  8. Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. – 2 Corinthians 13:11
  9. Serve one another humbly in love. – Galatians 5:13
  10. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. – Ephesians 4:2
  11. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. – Ephesians 4:32
  12. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. – Colossians 3:16
  13. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds – Hebrews 10:24
  14. Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. – James 4:11
  15. Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters – James 5:9
  16. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. – 1 Peter 4:9
